One of the most furious rockers in the Lennon ouevre, "New York City" is another of John's autobiographical pieces, this time chronicling he and Yoko's time spent in NYC being offered marijuana, fighting for freedom, giving power to the people, playing with Elephant's Memory at the Fillmore, and other such things. It was an exciting time in John's life, and this is an exciting song, featuring some of his very best guitar work.
